How to Install a Coil Insert
Now that you know what is needed for an effective E-Z Coil™ installation, it's time to explain how the process actually works. Installing your first thread coil insert may take a while, but after continued practice, you'll be a pro in no time. First, you'll need to use the drill to carve the damaged thread. After the hole is set, use a proper-sized STI tap on the hole, and then center the tang by setting the stop on the mandrel tool. After this is set, use the mandrel tool to slowly insert and thread the coil insert. Once the thread coil insert is just below flush with the top of the opening, use your tang break tool and hammer to strike the tang out of place.
